The Hauhia Mill was built 1881. The mill and the sawmill have alway been using only hydropower. From the 1930´s to 1960´s the mill also provided a DC electric power generator for lighting the whole Hauhia village. The mill is nowadays used as a summer cafe , art exhibitions and museum.
